Here is my poorly written story i had help from www.furaffinity.net/user/skywi… for proof editing, thankyou!

Hasia walked in silence; he knew where he wanted to go. He took the long path to his destination, down the large corridors for feral creatures. The corridors were more like service tunnels when living on a spaceship, and he was thankful the ship was designed to fit creatures of his size. Humans scampered out of the way as he walked. Not in fear of getting stepped on, but out of respect for their leader. Plus they didn’t want to piss off the guard detail that always accompanied him.

Hasia got on a tram that headed for the far end of the ship, a very special part of the ship that held a key to one of his planet's greatest scientific achievements. The tram was a long ride of silence; he was not in a mood for light conversation with his guard detail, and they did not permit any other passengers on the tram. There were windows on the tram, but it was mostly dark in the tunnels aside from the spaced out lighting that would cast moving shadows on the walls.

After a few miles, the tram slowed down as it neared the rear of the ship. Thes top had fewer people because it was a high clearance exit. Hasia got off first, followed by his guard detail. A few humans wandered around, some were dirty from working the machines while others wore clean uniforms for working in the clean rooms. The other humans and a few ferals stood at stations as security making certain no uncleared citizen of the four million residents on the ship wandered into such a sensitive area of the ship.

Hasia kept walking down a corridor, and warning signs littered the large hallway; “MAXIMUM CLEARANCE ONLY” and “LETHAL FORCE AUTHORIZED.”  These signs were not meant for him. Hasia stopped at a large door.

Large lettering over the door read “HYPERSPACE CORE ROOM.” Hasia approached the guard that was standing near the door’s Bio scanner. He lowered his head and lined his eye up with the camera.

“Scanning, scanning, access granted, Blue Hasia,” the computer said, and a buzz rang out as the doors slid open.

He looked down at the four guards that tagged along with him.

“Sorry, but you four are not allowed in here,” Hasia said.

The leader of the company looked at Hasia, annoyed, “With all do respect, sir, we have access to all parts of the ship. Including here.”

Now Hasia was annoyed as he didn't want them in, he wanted his privacy in there. “I dont want you in here,” Hasia said bluntly, brooking no argument.

The guard was annoyed, it was his team’s job to keep him safe at all times. He huffed and motioned his men to stand at the door.

Hasia smiled and walked in and with a flick of his tail sent the company leader’s hat to the floor. The guard cursed but the door was already closing before he could further protest.

Hasia turned his head and inspected the massive room. A small park could fit in the mostly empty chamber. Down the catwalk in the center of this cavern of metal was the hyperspace core, the soul of the ship as Hasia liked to call it. Hasia walked slowly down the empty catwalk, his claws clicking with an echo with each step. The room filled with a hum and his mane buzzed with energy, not only was it a highly advanced technology, but advanced magic also filled this space. It was invisible to the naked eye, but Hasia could see the magical ties that were attached to the core.

Hasia stopped at the main panel station. The core reacted to his presence, and his body vibrated in unison. Two powerful magical sources of the same phase formed a positive bond, singing in unison, and Hasia purred. It felt like home back on Earth. The hyperspace core was more than just a powerful power source that allowed the fleet to hyperspace jump to almost anywhere in the galaxy, but it was the heart of the ship. Like a planet's heart, part of Earth's heart was grafted out for the core, and Hasia offered part of his life force to heal both the Earth's heart and the hyperspace core. Hasia’s life force sang in tune with the ship's heart.

Without its heart, the ship would not function, nor would the citizens be able to live in space for so long. The heart helped feed the plants and the living with the life force that they would get if they were back on Earth. Hasia lay down and closed his eyes, always finding it peaceful to meditate here. Thinking back to the days when he was younger, living on Earth, Hasia thought to himself, 'One day when I retire, I want to live out near a farm again. Those were such lovely times...'

Alarms went off and Hasia’s whiskers twitched with annoyance. The hyperspace core started buzzing and spinning and arcs jumped from it.

“Warning hyperspace core activated. Hyperspace jump engaged, stand clear of the core,” a loudspeaker recording announced, breaking into the lovely daydream he was having. Hasia got up, thinking he had really lost track of time if the ship was doing its jump already. A new sound was heard, a familiar sound of the hyperspace doorway getting closer. Hasia stood still as it’s always a weird sensation as the doorway engulfed the ship for hyperspace jumps.

The doorway finally came into the core room, the smooth energy plane approached him at high speed and washed over him. It was over in a few moments, and the hyperspace core powered down as the broadcast system announced the hyperspace jump successful. Hasia walked towards the door to leave the room, and gave one last look back at the core: a fragment of Earth that powered his people through space.
